In episode 11, Lee Se-Young’s character travels back to 19th-century Joseon. She transports to the time before her wedding to nobleman Tae-Ha. She warns him about his stepmother poisoning him which may end his life on their wedding day. Despite the warning, he dies.

In The Story Of Park’s Marriage Contract episode 12, Yeon-Woo exposes her mother-in-law’s crimes in Joseon. When the King summons them, Lee Se-Young’s character tells him that her mother-in-law wanted a government post and thus killed his son. Tae-Ha appears from behind and reveals that he faked his death to prove that his stepmother is the culprit.

After punishing the criminals, Tae-Ha expects a happy marriage with Yeon-Woo, but she refuses to be his wife. He then reveals that he was the kid who used to play with her. Despite all his efforts, she says no to his proposal. Meanwhile, 21st-century Tae-Ha has recovered from his heart disease. For context, Yeon-Woo traveled back to Joseon because her presence in the modern day would have killed Tae-Ha. 

The Story Of Park’s Marriage Contract episode 12 takes viewers back to Yeon-Woo. She changes the law of a Loyal Wife that almost took her and Tae-Ha’s lives. Her actions in Joseon change the future. After declining to live as Tae-Ha’s wife, Yeon-Woo decides to move to a different village. Bae In-Hyuk’s character follows her there and requests her to be his friend. The two share beautiful moments before Tae-Ha falls sick.

As they sit by a river, he tells her he had a dream about his look-alike in a different era waiting for her. He reveals that he knows that Yeon-Woo loves someone else who looks like him. He puts his head on her shoulder and takes his last breath.

Towards The Story Of Park’s Marriage Contract ending, Yeon-Woo (Lee Se-Young) starts living as Tae-Ha’s widow in Joseon. Myung-Soo, Tae-Ha’s stepmother’s crime partner, breaks out from prison and attacks her. She fights back, but he chases her to the edge of a cliff.

Yeon-Woo decides to jump off the cliff and return to the 21st century. In the present day, Yeon-Woo’s clothing store is soaring, while things have turned positive in all the supporting actors’ lives. Tae-Ha’s business is successful, and he has mended fences with his family. Despite all the happiness, he is sad and waiting for Yeon-Woo.

The tree that blossomed when Yeon-Woo arrived in the 21st century starts to lose all its flowers. Tae-Ha breaks down, thinking she will never return. He comes back to the same place disheartened. As he turns around and begins to leave, the petals of the flowers move in his direction. He turns back and sees Yeon-Woo standing there. She says, “I came back. Was I too late in coming?” The two talk about their changes in fate and share an emotional hug.

The Story Of Park’s Marriage Contract ended with Tae-Ha and Yeon-Woo sharing their wedding vows again. With a passionate kiss, they give their fans a happy ending.
