According to the official site of Rick Riordan, the author of the Percy Jackson books, Miranda is reportedly a fan of the book series and was excited to join the Disney Plus show.

In the books Hermes, much like the Greek mythological depictions is the Greek messenger of the Gods and the God of Commerce, Travellers, and Thieves. He is also the father of demigod Luke Castellan, a member of Camp Half-Blood who serves as the main antagonist of the first book in the series, The Lightning Thief.

In the second book, Sea of Monsters, Hermes plays a minor but pivotal role when he tries to aid Percy Jackson and his friends in their quest with hopes of redeeming his son Luke and reconciling with him. This is after Luke turns against his father and the other Gods of Olympus and allies with the Titans.

In entertainment elsewhere, here are some villains who could replace Kang in the MCU’s Avengers 5 and 6. Also, here is why Logan Lerman was replaced by Walker Scobell in the role of Percy Jackson.
