Stranger Things Creators Debunk Popular Fan Theory as Season 5 Ending

Was it all a dream? That’s one of the fan theories going around the Internet about how Stranger Things Season 5 will end. The thesis states none of the events in Stranger Things ever happened. Instead, its seminal moments occurred in a game of Dungeons and Dragons played by the main characters.

The theory has become so popular that it’s reached Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer. So, what do they think about it?

“That is correct. That is the ending…. No,” Matt told The Metro at the West End premiere of Stranger Things: The First Shadow.

“That would be the equivalent of, ‘That’s all a dream.’ No, I assure you that is not how we’re going to end the show,” Ross added. “We’ve known where we’ve been going for a while. And we feel comfortable with it; hopefully, it satisfies everyone. We’ll see.”

What to Expect in Stranger Things Season 5?

Stranger Things Season 5 was supposed to begin filming in 2023, but the Hollywood strikes paused all production on the show. Now, the series is expected to start production in Janaury 2024.

Stranger Things cast members scheduled to return for Season 5 include Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Priah Ferguson, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke.

Stranger Things Season 5 will be the final season of the groundbreaking Netflix show. It’s unknown when Season 5 will premiere considering production has yet to begin. Stranger Things Season 5 will likely air at the end of 2024 or sometime in 2025.
