Millie Bobby Brown is keeping one of Stranger Things’ biggest mysteries under wraps. Although the actress knows exactly what happened to her character Eleven, she is not allowed to disclose what ultimately happens to her character.
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Brown explained that only she and the Duffer Brothers know the details of Eleven’s fate. Recalling a conversation that took place after the finale aired, Brown said, “They were like, ‘Do not tell anyone. Because we made it a secret kind of pledge.'” She added, “No one else knows. It’s just us three. And what we do with that information, it’ll be up to them.”
Brown’s comments came amid continued speculation surrounding Eleven’s fate. When podcast host Josh Horowitz asked the audience what they believed happened to the character, most attendees appeared convinced that she survived. Responding to that reaction, Brown said, “We have a hopeful audience. I love that!”
However, the actress declined to provide any further clarification. When asked whether Eleven was alive or dead, Brown replied, “All people say now is, ‘Do you believe?’ And of course I believe. I have to believe, honestly, otherwise January will come around again.”
During the same interview, Brown reflected on the emotional impact of concluding her journey with Stranger Things. The actress revealed that adjusting to life after the series proved more difficult than she had anticipated. “I went into a little bit of a slight, slight depression. It was very hard for me,” she said.
