BTS member V, aka Kim Tae-Hyung, will co-star in K-pop idol IU’s (Lee Ji-Eun) upcoming music video. The two have reportedly wrapped up filming the MV ahead of V’s military enlistment.

BTS V’s agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, confirmed the report to SPOTV News. The agency said, “It is right for him to appear in IU’s new song music video.” Viewers first admired the duo’s on-screen chemistry in a talk show, IU’s Palette. In it, they dished on their bond and surprised fans with their informal way of addressing each other.

Meanwhile, the upcoming music video will be IU’s comeback to the K-pop world since “Piece of Pieces” in December 2021.

IU’s agency confirms collaboration with BTS V in an official statement

BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed BTS member V’s collaboration with K-pop superstar IU on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Her agency released an official statement regarding the collaboration. It stated, “IU has finished filming the music video with BTS’s V and is preparing a new album with a target of the first half of the year.”

It added, “Currently, IU is planning to spend the end of this year with a busy schedule, with the final filming of the drama ‘I was fooled’ and the preparation of a new album. Please look forward to it.”

The duo’s music video might be V’s final project before his enlistment. Along with RM, Jungkook, and Jimmy, Tae-Hyung will report to the military service on December 11 and 12. Hence, V and IU’s MV will reportedly be released in the first half of 2024. And the four Bangtail boys will return in 2025.

Other BTS members, Jin, J-Hope, and Suga, are currently serving in the military and will be released next year. The much-awaited BTS concert post-enlistment will take place in 2025, including all seven idols.
