John Carpenter Is Still a Big Fan of Fallout 76

John Carpenter may be best known for directing classics such as Halloween, The Thing, and Prince of Darkness, but these days, he’s far keener to compose new music, watch basketball, and play video games.

Carpenter Doesn’t Want to Escape From West Virginia

Carpenter doesn’t tweet out too much, but occasionally, we’ll get an insight into what he’s been up to, and in terms of video games, he’s enjoyed all sorts over the years. He’s even helping make one with Saber Interactive called John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando.

But he’s been getting consistent joy with Bethesda’s Fallout 76, the online spinoff to the post-apocalyptic Fallout RPG series. Carpenter has previously mentioned how obsessed he has been with it, and it seems to have stayed with him.

Despite a rough start, the game has recently celebrated its 5th anniversary, and an Atlantic City expansion is set to arrive in a couple of weeks. Carpenter took to social media to show his love for the game and excitement for the upcoming expansion.

Carpenter began getting into games back in the early ’90s with Sonic the Hedgehog, which he initially found difficult to handle, but since then, he’s been fond of the first Jak and Daxter (good taste), Borderlands, Horizon Forbidden West, and Dead Space.

Carpenter enjoys open-world games for their freedom, so, understandably, he’s become smitten with Fallout 76’s ever-evolving world.

Fallout 76’s Atlantic City expansion is out on consoles and PC on December 5, 2023.
