Pluto Trailer Unveils Netflix’s Reimagined Astro Boy Anime Series

The Pluto trailer unveils Netflix’s upcoming anime adaptation, from Tezuka Productions, which is based on the reimagining of Osamu Tezuka’s legendary Astro Boy manga.

“In a world where humans and robots coexist, Europol detective Gesicht is on the case when a string of powerful robots are destroyed, leading him to believe that the culprit is targeting the most advanced robots in the world – including himself,”. per the official synopsis. “But things take a shocking turn when key humans involved in robot law start getting killed off one by one, and there’s no clear sign of a perpetrator at the murder scenes. As Gesicht investigates, he meets the highly advanced robot Atom, whose emotions and AI leave him questioning his own identity. Together, they uncover a dark plot that could spell the end of the world as they know it. But with the clock ticking, can they stop the greatest evil in history before it’s too late?”

When Will Pluto Debut on Netflix?

The eight-episode series debuts on October 26.

The voice cast includes Shinshû Fuji as Gesicht, Yôko Hikasa as Atom, Minori Suzuki as Uran, Toshihiko Seki as Pluto, Romi Park as Helena, Ron Bottitta as Duncan, Hideyuki Tanaka as Brau, Ken’yû Horiuchi as President Alexander, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Professor Abullah, Eizô Tsuda as Dr. Tenma, Michio Hazama as Duncan, and more.

Genco producers Pluto, with Toshio Kawaguchi directing. Naoki Urasawa is the creative advisor. Shigeru Fujita is the character designer, in addition to the supervising animation director. Yugo Kanno composed the music.
