The Nun 2 Poster Teases Taissa Farmiga’s Return as Sister Irene

A brand new The Nun 2 poster for New Line Cinema’s forthcoming horror sequel has been released, featuring Taissa Farmiga’s Sister Irene levitating in the middle of what looks to be a church. After failing to defeat Valak during the first installment, Sister Irene has no choice but to fight the demon again for the sake of a possessed friend and a Catholic all-girls school that is being terrorized.

The film is scheduled to make its debut on September 8, the same month as other high-profile horror movies including A Haunting in Venice and Saw X.

What to Expect in The Nun 2?

“1956 – France. A priest is murdered,” the synopsis for the film reads. “An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face-to-face with Valak, the demon nun.”

The Nun 2 is directed by Michael Chaves (The Curse of La Llorona, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) from a screenplay written by Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg, based on Akela Cooper’s latest draft. Joining Farmiga in the horror sequel are Jonas Bloquet as Frenchie/ Maurice and Bonnie Aarons as Valak. Additional cast includes Storm Reid, Anna Popplewell, and Katelyn Rose Downey.

Both Wan and Peter Safran produce. Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Victoria Palmeri, Gary Dauberman, Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Michael Polaire serve as executive producers.
