Good Burger 2 Stars Discuss Plot Details in First Look at Sequel

The Good Burger will be open for business again. Good Burger 2, the sequel to the 1997 comedy starring Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, arrives on Paramount Plus this November, and the two stars gave Al Roker of Today an exclusive first look.

While giving Roker a tour of the set, which featured a ride in the iconic burgermobile, Thompson and Mitchell, dressed in their Good Burger uniforms, shared a few details about the plot of Good Burger 2.

“Ed owns the place now, Good Burger,” Mitchell told Roker. “Dex comes back around. They haven’t seen each other in a few years, so it’s things that unravel with that.” Thompson added that “hijinks” occur soon after their reunion.

Who is Involved in Good Burger 2?

Thompson and Mitchell star as Dexter Reed and Ed, the two coworkers-turned-friends who saved the Good Burger business from the evil Mondo Burger. Josh Server and Lori Beth reprise their roles as Fizz and Connie Muldoon, respectively. Carmen Electra returns as Roxanne, the Mondo Burger employee who tried to seduce Ed into revealing the recipe for his secret sauce.

New cast members include Jillian Bell, the CEO of the mysterious MegaCorp; Lil Rel Howery as Cecil McNevin, a lawyer at MegaCorp; and Alex R. Hibbert as Ed2, the doppelganger son of Ed. Fabrizio Guido, Kamaia Fairburn, Anabel Graetz, and twins Elizabeth and Emily Hinkler will play Good Burger employees.

The official logline reads: “Twenty-six years after the events of the first film, inventor Dexter Reed reunites with his co-worker Ed at his old workplace, Good Burger.”

Good Burger 2 is directed by Phill Traill from a screenplay by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, who co-wrote Good Burger, along with James III. Good Burger is based on the sketch from the Nickelodeon sketch show All That. Thompson and Mitchell will produce, with Kopelow, Seifert, and John Ryan Jr. serving as executive producers.
