Prime Video Schedule May 22-28: New TV & Movies Being Added

Prime Video subscribers can finally watch Violent Night as the movie is heading to the streamer for the May 22-28 schedule.

On Friday, May 26, the appreciated action comedy movie starring David Harbour will hit Prime Video. Directed by Tommy Wirkola from a screenplay penned by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, Violent Night follows a peculiar Santa Claus who does whatever it takes to get rid of bad guys. The cast is led by Harbour, who is best known for his role as Jim Hopper in Stranger Things. Harbour’s credits include Suicide Squad, 2019’s Hellboy, and Black Widow, among many other things.

Violent Night also stars John Leguizamo (John Wick), Cam Gigandet (Without Remorse), Alex Hassell (Cowboy Bebop), Alexis Louder (The Tomorrow War), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), and Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation franchise). The movie hit theaters on December 2, 2002, and grossed over $76 million at the box office. The success led producers to greenlight a sequel already in the works that will expand the story of Harbour’s Santa character.

This week, Prime Video will also add Three Thousand Years of Longing to its catalog. Directed by George Miller (Mad Max), the 2022 fantasy movie stars Idris Elba (The Suicide Squad) and Tilda Swinton (Tár) as the leading actors. The cast includes Aamito Lagum, Burcu Gölgedar, and Matteo Bocelli. The movie bombed at the box office but was generally received with positive reviews.

Miller produced the film with Doug Mitchell and Kennedy Miller Mitchell. Craig McMahon and Kevin Sun serve as executive producers. It hails from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, FilmNation Entertainment, and United Artists Releasing.
