Hocus Pocus 2 is a horror-comedy sequel to Disney’s 1993 cult classic, which will be bringing back everyone’s favorite witch sisters: multi-award-winning actress Bette Midler (The First Wives Club) as Winifred Sanderson, four-time Golden Globe winner Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex and the City, And Just Like That) as Sarah Sanderson and Kathy Najimy (Sister Act) as Mary Sanderson.

“It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge,” reads the synopsis. “Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.”

Additional cast includes Doug Jones (The Shape of Water), Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl), Lilia Buckingham (Dirt), Belisa Escobedo (American Horror Stories), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Tony Hale (Veep), Sam Richardson (The Tomorrow War), Juju Brener (Vanquish), Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf), Taylor Paige Henderson, and Nina Kitchen.

Hocus Pocus 2 is directed by Anne Fletcher (27 Dresses, The Proposal) from a screenplay written by Jen D’Angelo (Workaholics). It is produced by Lynn Harris and Steven Haft. Executive producers are Adam Shankman, Ralph Winter, and David Kirschner.

Directed by Kenny Ortega, the original film followed the story of a teenage boy who accidentally brings a trio of villainous Salem witches back to life on Halloween night. Although Hocus Pocus wasn’t a critical and commercial success by the time of its release, it still stood the test of time through countless annual airings and has now become a cult classic film.
