According to a report from Deadline, the series is being developed by Soo Hugh (Pachinko), with Hugh and Mark Heyman — creator of Strange Angel and writer on Black Swan — set to act as co-showrunners. No official release information for the series has been released as of now.

The series will be based on Grann’s book, which is inspired by the true-life account of Henry Worsley, a British explorer and British Army officer who was part of the successful 2009 expedition that retraced Ernest Shackleton’s footsteps in the Antarctic. Worsley died in 2016 while attempting to complete the first solo and unaided crossing of the Antarctic.
