Starfield Has More Dialogue Lines Than Skyrim & Fallout 4

Starfield is slated to come out on November 11, 2022, and while we don’t know much about it yet, we now know it will at least have a lot of dialogue. It will apparently have around two-and-a-half times more dialogue than Skyrim, a notoriously large game, and even more than Fallout 4.

As shown by Nibel on Twitter, Game Director Todd Howard appeared on the Tokyo Games Show stream to speak briefly about the game. In saying that Starfield will be fully translated and voiced in Japanese, he also said it would be Bethesda’s biggest localization ever. He stated that over 300 actors will be delivering over 150,000 lines of dialogue for the space RPG.

Bethesda also gave line totals around the launches of Skyrim and Fallout 4. The former was said to have around 60,000 lines while Bethesda said the latter had around 111,000. Fallout 4 likely had more since it had a voiced protagonist. Also it is worth keeping in mind that these estimates were before either had DLC.

And while not as big, fellow Bethesda game Redfall will also be fully localized in Japanese, as Creative Director Harvey Smith went on just before Howard to reveal the news.
