The series will reportedly star Abubakr Ali in the titular role — becoming “the first Arab Muslim male actor to portray a series lead in a comic book adaptation” — and will be written and executive produced by Andrew Dabb (Supernatural), who will also serve as showrunner for the series. The order is the result of Netflix’s first-look deal with Dark Horse Entertainment, which has already produced the hit series The Umbrella Academy, among other series.
