The Changeling series is being described as a fairytale for grown-ups. A horror story, a parenthood fable, and a perilous odyssey through a New York City you didn’t know existed. It will be written and executive produced by Kelly Marcel (Cruella), who will also serve as showrunner, with Melina Matsoukas attached to direct.

Stanfield first gained recognition for his acting debut performance in Destin Daniel Cretton’s Short Term 12. Since then, his film career has been on a steady rise which led him to star in several acclaimed films such as Selma, Straight Outta Compton, Snowden, Get Out, Sorry to Bother You, Knives Out, and most recently Judas and the Black Messiah. The latter earned him his first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

He will next be seen in Netflix’s all-star Western film The Harder They Fall, and the long-awaited third season of the hit FX series Atlanta, where he will reprise his role as Darius Epps.
