CS Video Interview: Super-Manager and Supermensch Shep Gordon

There have been a lot of great docs about unlikely subjects, but Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon, directed by Mike Myers of “Austin Powers” and “Shrek” fame, shines the spotlight on someone that many people may never have heard of although his management skills have led to super-stardom for many of those he has represented.

Shep Gordon’s life and career doesn’t begin and end with Alice Cooper, his longest and most notorious client, whose sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle was matched only by Gordon himself. Gordon went on to become a close friend of the Dalia Lama and a trained professional chef as well as helping to pave the way for the wave of celebrity chefs that began in the ’90s and continues to this day.

Gordon has clearly had an interesting life, one filled with all sorts of great stories, and in the video interview below, ComingSoon.net spoke to Gordon about his legacy as a manager of rock stars like Alice Cooper and early celebrity chefs like Emeril Lagasse.

Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon opens in New York and Los Angeles starting Friday and expands to other cities over the course of the summer. You can read more about the movie in this week’s Weekend Warrior column.
