Channing Tatum Plans True Crime Thriller

Channing Tatum is set to both produce and headline an untitled crime thriller at Sony Pictures, says a story today at The Hollywood Reporter.

Details on the project are few, but it is said to take place in the late 1970s and follows a police officer who goes deep undercover to catch a notorious mob boss. War Story screenwriter Kristin Gore is attached to provide the screenplay.

Tatum can next be seen reprising his role as Jenko opposite Jonah Hill’s Schmidt in Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s big screen sequel 22 Jump Street. The comedy hits theaters June 13 and will soon be followed by Andy and Lana Wachowski’s sci-fi fantasy Jupiter Ascending, wherein Tatum stars opposite Mila Kunis. After that, he’ll lend his voice to the Guillermo del Toro-produced animated project Book of Life before returning to the stage for Magic Mike 2.

Tatum will produce the crime thriller alongside Reid Carolin, Neil Meron and Craig Zadan.
