Netflix’s Live-Action Resident Evil Series Reveals Main Cast

During today’s Netflix Geeked Week, Netflix finally announced the main cast for their forthcoming live-action series adaptation of Resident Evil, based on Capcom’s popular video game franchise. John Wick star Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Tamara Smart (A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting), Siena Agudong (No Good Nick), and Paola Nuñez (Bad Boys for Life) have officially been tapped to star in the streamer’s newest horror series.

Further details about the female cast’s characters are still being kept under wraps, but it has been confirmed that Reddick has signed on to portray the villainous head of Umbrella Corporation, Albert Wesker, who was previously portrayed by Jason O’Mara and Shawn Roberts in the Milla Jovovich-led live-action Resident Evil films.

Netflix’s live-action Resident Evil series was greenlit last year for an 8-episode hour-long series order. The project hails from Supernatural executive producer Andrew Dabb, who will be serving as a writer, executive producer, and showrunner. The series will also be written and executive produced by Mary Leah Sutton, with Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben set as executive producers. Constantin Film, the studio behind the blockbuster film franchise, will be the project’s studio with CEO Martin Moszkowicz also producing.

The series will reportedly be set between two timelines featuring the same protagonist. The first one will follow a couple of fourteen-year-old sisters who have just moved to New Raccoon City. Soon enough, Jade and Billie Wesker will discover that there is more in the city than meets the eye. Even their father is concealing some dangerous dark secrets. Meanwhile, the second timeline will follow Jade in her thirties. In a future where the T-virus has infected plenty of people and animals, she has to do what it takes to survive while the ghosts of the past are still haunting her.
