Forbidden West is the sequel to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn, which was a critical and commercial success for PlayStation. Developed by Guerrilla Games, which is best known for the Killzone series of first-person shooters, this third-person action role-playing game starred a young girl named Aloy in a world with dangerous robotic creatures. She winds up discovering more about her past and the world itself in the original title.

In Horizon Forbidden West, Aloy’s adventure continues as she is sent to secure a frontier called the Forbidden West. She’s attempting to find the source of a mysterious plague that is killing everyone that it infects. She has to go through new types of machines and will travel across varied terrain ranging from snowy mountains to ruined cities and tropical beaches. The map is said to be even bigger than the original and features iconic locations such as a ruined version of San Francisco.
