Check Out the New Trailer for Doom Eternal’s “The Ancient Gods” Expansion Pack

Woa! In case you hadn’t quenched your thirst for demon carnage, Bethesda has unleashed an all new expansion pack for its hit shooter, Doom Eternal, titled “The Ancient Gods Part One,” which will introduce new maps, enemies, and, of course, weapons to the blood-soaked world of the Doomslayer. The teaser is quite brief, but it looks to expand upon the mythos established in Doom Eternal, whilst paving the way for more DLCs in the future. Per NME.com, a full scale reveal of the DLC will take place on August 27 during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. You can check out the brief teaser below.

In Doom Eternal, players take control of the DOOM Slayer who has returned to take his vengeance against the forces of Hell. Set to an all-new pulse-pounding soundtrack composed by Mick Gordon, players fight across dimensions and slay new and classic demons with powerful new weapons and abilities.

With twice as many demons as its predecessor, including The Marauder and Doom Hunter, as well as returning favorites, Arachnotron, and Archville, the latest installment to the Doom Saga features a new system called “Destructible Demons” in which enemies’ bodies become progressively deteriorated and destroyed in combat as they suffer damage.

There is also a new multiplayer mode entitled “Invasion” in which players can join other single-player campaigns, fighting against them as demons in a manner similar to that of the Dark Souls franchise. Those who wish to play the game solo or without this additional challenge can deactivate this mode.
