Amazon Greenlights Season 2 of Upload

Just a week after the premiere of the sci-fi comedy from Parks and Recreation and Space Force co-creator Greg Daniels, Amazon has chosen to renew the Robbie Amell-starring Upload for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

I am thrilled to continue a great relationship with Amazon Studios and this wonderful cast and find out what happens next to Nora and Nathan and Ingrid and their 2033 world,” Daniels said in a statement. “With this news, I can stop drawing my season two flip book.

Upload is set in the near future where people who are near death can be “uploaded” into virtual reality environments. Cash-strapped Nora works customer service for the luxurious “Lakeview” digital afterlife. When party-boy/coder Nathan’s car crashes, his girlfriend uploads him into Nora’s VR world.

In Upload, Greg Daniels delivered a smart, cinematic comedy crackling with intrigue, and it has clearly delighted our customers who have spent a lot of time in Lakeview this past week,” Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke said in a statement. “We know our global fans want to see the next chapter with Nathan and Nora, so we are greenlighting season two and are excited that Greg’s passion project has found such a devoted audience.

The series stars Robbie Amell (Life with Derek, The Flash) as Nathan, Andy Allo as Nora, Kevin Bigley as Luke, Owen Daniels as A.I. Guy, Allegra Edwards as Ingrid Bannerman, Zainab Johnson as Aleesha, Christine Ko as Mandi, and Barclay Hope as Oliver Kannerman.
