Per the report, the film will focus on a troubled father (played by Rysdahl), who attempts to reconnect with his estranged daughter (played by Man With a Plan star Hala Finley). The kick is that the reunion happens when the duo are rendered homeless amidst a winter storm, which forces them to fake an illness in order to earn the good graces of his mother (played by Leo). No specifics were given on Beetz’s role.

Jason Michael Berman of Mandalay Pictures and Mark Berger of Play Hooky Productions serve as producers alongside Bradley Pilz and Datari Turner. Academy Award-winning actor Sam Rockwell will executive produce along with Beetz and Will Rayno.

“At a time when this country is so politically divided, I’m thrilled to be working with such an incredible cast and crew to deliver a timely story about forgiveness and hope,” said director Gerber.

Beetz was recently seen in the Academy Award-winning film, Joker, as well as the films Lucy in the Sky, Nine Days, and Deadpool 2. Leo won an Oscar for her performance in The Fighter back in 2010, and has since kept herself plenty busy with roles in films such as Prisoners, The Big Short, and The Equalizer 2.
