Christian Bale Gives Robert Pattinson His Batman Advice

Now that Robert Pattinson has taken over the cape and cowl from Ben Affleck, former Batman star Christian Bale has given some advice to the Twilight hunk (via Variety) while out promoting his new film Ford v Ferrari. The Batman is slated to begin filming around year’s end.

“Good choice,” Bale said of Pattinson taking the role. “He’s interesting. I’m sure he’ll come up with something really interesting.” When asked to give his advice, Bale stated, “Oh, the same as for Ben, just be able to pee by yourself. You don’t feel much like a superhero when you can’t take a piss by yourself.”

While speaking with Variety, Pattinson recently stated that the reality of his casting hit him on the first day he was shooting Christopher Nolan’s mysterious new thriller, Tenet. Given his access, Pattinson wasn’t shy about asking for pointers from the man who helmed The Dark Knight trilogy, which collectively changed superhero movies forever.

It’s so bizarre,” Pattinson said. “I was like, ‘What a coincidence this is happening. It’s absolutely crazy. I was talking about things to do with the Batsuit? How to get more movements in it?'”

Since his breakout role in the Twilight films, Pattinson has largely stayed away from blockbuster films. His credits include Maps to the StarsQueen of the DesertLifeThe Lost City of Z, and the crime drama Good Time. More recently, Pattinson starred in High Life, a sci-fi/horror film that was released earlier this year.

Director Matt Reeves‘ upcoming The Batman which will ignore previous DCEU entries and take the story back to the early days of Bruce Wayne’s foray into vigilantism.

The Batman is currently slated to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
