GMA’s First Look at August: Osage County

When Tracy Letts’ play August: Osage County first premiered in 2007, it was pretty evident that the writer of plays like Bug and Killer Joe had come up with something truly special. It won five Tony Awards and Letts was honored with a Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

When you have such a successful play, it’s only a matter of time before it gets translated to the screen, and The Weinstein Company got the rights to adapt it with director John Wells (Company Men) at the helm and an illustrious cast that includes both Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep, along with Benedict Cumberbatch, Margo Martindale, Chris Cooper and Sam Shepard

The movie isn’t scheduled to open until November 8, but ABC’s Good Morning America got an early sneak peek look at the very first trailer which you can watch below.
