Cheech & Chong’s Animated Movie Rolls Into Theaters on April 18

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced today that Cheech & Chong’s Animated Movie will hit theaters on April 20. Here’s the full announcement followed by the trailer:

Everyone’s favorite stoner duo is back – and animated – in CHEECH & CHONG’S ANIMATED MOVIE, rolling its way into theaters nationwide April 18. The high-larious film will hit 50+ theaters in cities across the country including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Miami, St. Louis and Houston. Directed by Branden Chambers and Eric D. Chambers, this high-larious feature-length adventure is the perfect film to watch with your best buds! CHEECH & CHONG’S ANIMATED MOVIE showcases the legendary toker jokers like you’ve never seen them before – in animation. Catch the buzz as their most outrageous routines and laugh-out-loud lines from their ground breaking Grammy Award-winning albums come to life, including the original Ode recordings of “Dave’s not here,” “Let’s make a dope deal” and more. With help from a bud-lovin’ body crab named Buster, Cheech & Chong “the masters of the smokin’ word” deliver the ultimate comedy high and give you the munchies for more.

The legendary comedy team has also baked up a bag full of songs for the film’s soundtrack, available through all digital retailers April 9. A blazin’ new animated and celebrity-studded music video for the album’s track “Cheech and Chong Anthem (WEed Are the World™),” featuring animated cameos from the likes of Mary Jane enthusiasts, Zach Galifianakis, Kid Cudi, Whoopi Goldberg, Wiz Khalifa, George Lopez, Bill Maher, B-Real, Willie Nelson, and more, drops April 15.

Following the theatrical release, fans can grab a copy of CHEECH & CHONG’S ANIMATED MOVIE on Blu-ray and DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment April 23.

The animation for CHEECH & CHONG’S ANIMATED MOVIE was produced entirely at Los Angeles based Chambers Bros. Animation. The film was produced by Lou Adler, Branden Chambers, Eric D. Chambers and Houston Curtis. Theatrical distribution was managed by D&E Entertainment.
