Jason Bateman Plans on Family Therapy

Jason Bateman and his Aggregate Films are set to produce a comedy called Family Therapy at Universal Pictures, Deadline reports. Bateman will produce alongside Jim Garavente and will potentially star as well.

The screenplay for the comedy drama arrives from Jay Reiss, best known for his work on the hit broadway musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” It follows a husband and father who brings in a therapist to help his family work out their issues just before a wedding.

Bateman recently starred opposite Melissa McCarthy in Identity Thief. He can next be seen in theaters in Disconnect and reprising his role as Michael Bluth when new episodes of “Arrested Development” arrive on Netflix this May.
