Jason Momoa Cast in Lead Role for Apple Drama Series See

Jason Momoa (Aquaman, Justice League, Frontier) is returning to television in the Apple series See, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The drama is written by Academy Award nominee Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Peaky Blinders, The Girl in the Spider’s Web) and directed by Francis Lawrence (Red Sparrow, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, I Am Legend).

Momoa’s previous television credits include the gritty Netflix series Frontier and his infamous role as Khal Drogo on HBO’s Game of Thrones. In See, Momoa will star in a lead role as Baba Voss, a fearless warrior, leader, and guardian.

The eight-episode series is described as an epic, world-building drama set in the future. Knight and Lawrence will executive produce See alongside Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kristen Campo for Chernin Entertainment/Endeavor Content.

Momoa has previously held television roles in The Red Road, Stargate Atlantis, North Shore, and Baywatch: Hawaii. His recent film credits include Aquaman, releasing in theaters on December 21, 2018, Justice League, and Braven. The actor recently announced that he and director Corin Hardy exited The Crow remake with Momoa originally set to star in the lead role.

Apple’s upcoming slate includes Are You Sleeping starring Octavia Spencer, a morning show drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, an Amazing Stories reboot from Steven Spielberg, a Ronald D. Moore space drama, a Damien Chazelle series, an M. Night Shyamalan psychological thriller, the immigration-themed anthology series Little America from Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon, the comedy Dickinson starring Hailee Steinfeld, and the romantic dramedy Little Voice produced by J.J. Abrams.
