Future Man and Marvel’s Runaways Renewed at Hulu

Hulu has announced that it’s two new series that premiered in late 2017, Future Man and Marvel’s Runaways, have both been renewed for a second season at the streaming service.

Executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Preacher, Sausage Party, Superbad, Knocked Up), Future Man follows a janitor by day/world-ranked gamer by night who travels through time to prevent the extinction of humanity after mysterious visitors from the future proclaim him the key to defeating the imminent super-race invasion.

Josh Hutcherson stars as Josh Futterman, an uninspired and dejected gamer who quickly becomes earth’s unlikely hero. Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings), Derek Wilson (Preacher), Ed Begley Jr. (St. Elsewhere) and Glenne Headly (Don Jon) also star. The series’ second season will be for another 13 episodes.

Marvel’s Runaways is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe – their parents. The Hulu original series is based on the Marvel comics created by the award-winning team of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona.

The cast for the series includes Ariela Barer (New Girl, One Day at a Time) as Gert Yorkes, Lyrica Okano (The AffairUnforgettable) as Nico Minoru–tough, Rhenzy Feliz (Teen WolfCasual) as Alex Wilder, Gregg Sulkin (Faking ItDon’t Hang UpAnti Social) as Chase Stein, Virginia Gardner (GoatLittle Bitches) as Karolina Dean, and Allegra Acosta (100 Things to do Before High SchoolJust Add Magic) as Molly Hernandez. The O.C. and Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage serve as co-showrunners/writers and executive produce the series along with Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.

The season one finale for Marvel’s Runaways will premiere tomorrow, January 9, on Hulu.
