Wonder Woman’s Lynda Carter to Appear on Supergirl!

Wonder Woman’s Lynda Carter to appear on Supergirl

In its first season, Supergirl has been all about the fun, and that extends beyond the context of the show’s plotlines and into the casting decisions made for the series. Helen Slater, who played Supergirl in the 1984 film, and Dean Cain, who played Superman in the TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, both were brought in to the prominent role of Kara’s Earth parents, and even Laura Vandervoort, who played Supergirl on Smallville, had a guest spot.

Now, the executive producers of the series have revealed (via EW) they are preparing to bring another DC character alum to the series with former Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter!

“We had the perfect role for Lynda Carter. We couldn’t work out her schedule. Next year,” Greg Berlanti said, before revealing her role in the series. “All right, she’s the female president of the United States.”

Supergirl has yet to be officially renewed for a second season, however the CEO of CBS has said he expects it will be renewed.

Melissa Benoist leads the cast of Supergirl as the title character alongside Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater.

Supergirl airs Monday at 8 PM ET on CBS. If you missed an episode of Supergirl, or just need a refresher, be sure to check out our weekly recaps by clicking here.
