With the table set for the proposed “The Flash” spin-off, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that former “Law & Order” star Jesse L. Martin has been cast as Detective West, father to Iris West, in the upcoming series. The site describes Detective West as follows:
“An honest, blue-collar cop who is a surrogate father to Barry. A soulful, funny and caring father to Iris — Barry’s potential love interest — West came up through the foster care system and took Barry in after his mother’s slaying and father’s imprisonment. He believes in Barry and supports his efforts to prove his father’s innocence.”
Casting is still coming together for the series, which will see Grant Gustin as Barry Allen aka The Flash, so check back here for further updates.
“Arrow” co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg along with Geoff Johns will write the pilot episode with “Arrow” pilot director David Nutter at the helm.
