A New Photo From The Strain Puts You on the Plane

Riding on the heels of last week’s photos comes a new, eerie image from “The Strain,” the upcoming FX series based on the novels by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. The latest image finds star Mia Maestro aboard a plane? For those who read book one, you know this is a significant moment. You can view the photo, as well as the previously-released images, below.

At a TCA presentation last night, showrunner Carlton Cuse (“Bates Motel”) revealed “The Strain” will aim for a five to six season run. Del Toro, as we know, helmed the pilot and reception to the trailer they showed last night was positive (based on tweets from colleagues). The series aims to make vampires scary again.

The tale is a high-concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.

Corey Stoll, Maestro, Sean Astin, Kevin Durand, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Jack Kesy, Ben Hyland, and Miguel Gomez also star.
