U.S. Trailer Debut for Greg McLean’s Wolf Creek 2

Wolf Creek 2 is arriving on VOD April 17th with a limited theatrical run expected May 16th. The U.S. trailer for the Greg McLean-directed follow-up to the 2005 Australian hit horror flick landed on the web today and you can check it out here.

Now We Know When the U.S. Gets to See Wolf Creek 2, Watch the Trailer!

?Mick Taylor returns to the screen to spray the Outback with blood in Wolf Creek 2. Image Entertainment picked the sequel – once again written and directed by Greg McLean – earlier this year and we’re now learning that the film will bow on VOD Apri 17th and hit select theaters on May 16th.

I’ve seen the film and I can tell you that if you’re a fan of the first, you’ll love the second. Equally as violent and it turns its narrative structure on its head. Surprises abound! Look for a full review soon.

Wolf Creek Director’s 6 Miranda Drive Lands at Blumhouse, Gets a Star

Persistence has paid off for Greg McLean who is finally moving forward with 6 Miranda Dr., a thriller we first reported on in 2011. At the time, the Wolf Creek helmer was going to co-produce and direct the film for Lionsgate.

He instead moved on to Wolf Creek 2 (coming soon from Image Entertainment, now out overseas). 6 Miranda Dr., in the meantime, has landed at Blumhouse Productions and he’ll be directing the film for them. Radha Mitchell is set to star along with The Following’s Kevin Bacon.

Mick Taylor takes the spotlight in the official one-sheet for Wolf Creek 2, opening next month in Australia. The sequel to the 2005 is once again written and directed by Greg McLean. John Jarratt reprises his role as the sadistic Mick. You’ll find both the new poster, the teaser poster and the Australian trailer here (in case you missed them).

Image Entertainment has yet to reveal its release strategy for the film here in the States.

Greg McLean Co-Pens Wolf Creek Prequel Novels

If you love Mick Taylor – and I mean really love him…enough to read about his previous exploits pre-Wolf Creek – then you’ll want to see out two novels director Greg McLean penned that are on the way from Penguin Books Australia.

With “Origin: Wolf Creek Book 1” McLean co-writes with Aaron Sterns the first of two prequel tales. Origin takes readers back to when Mick Taylor was just a young boy and an innocent witness to the death of his little sister.

Wolf Creek 2 Lands U.S. Distribution…

The Greg McLean-directed Wolf Creek 2 has been picked up by Image Entertainment, reports Screen Daily.

The sequel to the 2005 Wolf Creek opens overseas in February.  Image has yet to reveal its release strategy for the film.

The Australian Poster for Wolf Creek 2, Trailer Launch Soon

Roadshow Films announced today it will release the trailer for the sequel, Wolf Creek 2, on October 21st in anticipation of the film’s February 20, 2014 release in Australia.  And with this news, we have your first look at the Australian one-sheet!

The anticipated first look of the film will debut on Monday, followed by a Google Hangout with director Greg Mclean at 8:00pm AEDT.

Wolf Creek 2 Gets a Release Date…in Australia

Roadshow Films announced that it will release the sequel, Wolf Creek 2, on February 20, 2014 in Australia.  Hopefully, a U.S. debut will follow shortly after that.  

“Our goal is to create an even more suspenseful, chilling and unforgettable experience for audiences and we feel very confident they will not be disappointed,” said Greg Mclean.

With Cannes upon us, we’re seeing a lot of new artwork being revealed including a new sales poster for Wolf Creek 2.  As you can see, via the larger image inside, this latest art is inspired by the Evil Dead remake.

Three Experience Outback Terror in Wolf Creek 2

Now, here’s a Wolf Creek 2 update we can sink our teeth into.  We’ve know for a bit now that Greg McLean was returning to the director’s seat with a follow-up to the 2005 thriller.  Also known, John Jarratt, as the maniacal Mick Taylor, would be back as well.

Now comes word that Ryan Corr, Shannon Ashlyn and Philipe Klaus will also star.
