Melton, Dunstan Introduce You to The Neighbor, Filmax Brings The Returned to the U.S.

Marcus Dunstan, director of The Collector and The Collection, is set to direct The Neighbor, reports Screen Daily.  

Set against the backdrop of New Mexico, the film “follows a man who discovers the dark truth about his secretive neighbor and what, or who, he may be keeping in the cellar.”  

Dunstan penned the script with Patrick Melton.  The two penned many of the Saw sequels together.

The outlet also says Filmax’s zombie thriller, The Returned, has been picked up for distribution from LevelFILM.  A February 14, 2014 release date has been set for a limited theatrical release and VOD bow.

Don’t Cross the White Line In This Poster for The Returned

An official poster for The Returned (not to be confused with the French TV series or the upcoming American TV series of the same name) has made its debut in anticipation of the film’s November overseas release.  The image depicts the film’s leading man, chained to a wall with a white marker on the floor as if to indicate “do not cross.”  You can check out a trailer here.

A&E Remaking The Returned for American Television

A&E Network is in development on the new “original” scripted drama series The Returned, a co-production of A+E Studios and FremantleMedia North America.

The series is based on the popular French suspense series adapted by Fabrice Gobert and inspired by the feature film, Les Revenants, directed by Robin Campillo.

Sundance Channel Acquires French Supernatural Drama The Returned

Sundance Channel announced today that it has acquired US broadcast rights to the supernatural drama The Returned from Music Box Films. The eight-part French series distributed by Zodiak Rights was created by Fabrice Gobert and is based on the feature film Les Revenants by Robin Campillo. It will premiere on Sundance Channel on Halloween, Thursday, October 31st at 9PM ET/PT. It will air every Thursday night at 9PM.

Music Box Films Takes Rights to Thriller TV Series The Returned

Music Box Films announced today that it has acquired all U.S. rights to the eight-part French mini-series The Returned (aka “Rebound”) from Zodiak Rights. Created by Fabrice Gobert and produced by Caroline Benjo, Jimmy Desmarais and Carole Scotta of Haut et Court, “The Returned” is based on the feature film Les Revenants by Robin Campillo. This gripping and stylish supernatural drama was ahit for France’s Canal+, and its debut on UK’s Channel 4 averaged 1.5 million viewers.
