Steven Lightfoot of Hannibal joined the many talented people from the show at Comic-Con this year and Shock Till You Drop caught up with the writer to discuss what’s in store for season 3. Click on the player below to hear about what Lightfoot is calling next season’s “European adventure.” They’re moving some of the action out of Baltimore, but does this mean they’ll be shooting overseas? Also, which new character is he eager to write?
HBO posted a new “weeks ahead” trailer moments after debuting it to Comic-Con attendees. This is the final season for the series and it’s closely in on the final episodes. It looks like Rutger Hauer is coming back. Tara, too. And Jason’s vampy girlfriend appears to be going bonkers. Ah, the drama. Check out the trailer here.
Kevin Smith sounds like he’s making his ode to ’80s horror with Tusk. That’s just the vibe I got from the director after talking with him at Comic-Con where he debuted the very first trailer for the film starring Michael Parks and Justin Long.
In the film, Long plays a podcaster who specializes in interviewing “interesting” people for his program. His travels carry him to Canada where he meets an older gent (Parks) with a helluva history and who packs one insane agenda: He intends to turn Long’s character into a walrus. Co-star Genesis Rodriguez told me before my chat with Smith that it’s no secret Parks’ character succeeds, my only question is: Upon walrus transformation – where the hell does the story go from there?
Godzilla 2 was very much present in Hall H this afternoon when Legendary Pictures invaded Comic-Con for a panel.
It began with a special message from director Gareth Edwards who joked he was in San Francisco helping the rebuilding process. Truth is, he’s working on the new Star Wars film, but when he’s done, it’s back to the business of Godzilla.
Wrapping up our slate of Comic-Con interviews about See No Evil 2, I have for you stars Danielle Harris and Kaj-Erik Eriksen. Here, they talk about working with Jen and Sylvia Soska, how the tone compares to the 2006 film and they give you an idea as to who their characters are.
The film hits DVD/Blu-ray/VOD October 17th. If you missed the trailer, watch it here.
Rose McIver and David Anders star in the upcoming CW series iZombie, a tale of a young woman and brain-eating. McIver hails from Once Upon Time and Anders is no stranger to horror having starred in The Revenant.
Based on the Vertigo comic book series created by Chris Roberson and Mike Allred, iZombie is executive produced by Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero. We spoke with Anders and McIver at Comic-Con where the show was being previewed for attendees. Click on the players here to learn a bit more about the series.
This afternoon, at Comic-Con, Shock Till You Drop was present for a slew of Bates Motel interviews. While some of the discussion of these interviews was anchored to season two chatter, there was some talk about season 3 and what we can expect when the show returns to A&E in early 2015.
For the actors, it was tough to draw any information because they all admitted they had not received any scripts yet. You see, Bates Motel season 3 doesn’t begin shooting until October in Vancouver. Writers-producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin, however, were a bit easier to get intel from.
Fans of Hannibal cheered yesterday afternoon when they learned Raul Esparza was returning to the series in season 3. The actor, who plays Dr. Chilton, was…
…shot in the face in season two. Chilton – who was under suspicion for murder at the time he was shot – was never to be seen again on the show leading many fans to believe he was dead. But showrunner Bryan Fuller says that is not the case and that Chilton will, in fact, have a pretty significant part in season 3.

This is the first year Penny Dreadful descended on the San Diego event and at the panel, showrunner John Logan dropped some season 2 news.
He told fans that Helen McCrory’s Madame Kali will serve as a new antagonist, which is rather exciting. In an effort to gather some more information about what’s to come, we caught up to Harry Treadaway and Reeve Carney from Penny Dreadful at Showtime’s Comic-Con party.
As fans know, they play Victor Frankenstein and Dorian Gray, respectively.
