‘Wolverine’, ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘Fast and Furious 6’ Trailer Talk, ‘Avengers’ Phase 2 Teasers and a ‘Thor’ Alternate Ending

A lot of small news bits have surfaced as of late having to do with the superheros and genre features that drive the world of movie blogging so I figured I would offer a rapid fire update beginning with some trailer news.

The first trailer for J.J. AbramsStar Trek Into Darkness will play in front of non-IMAX copies of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey when it hits theaters on December 14 and to go along with this there have been rumors of additional trailers on the way as well including previews for the likes of Man of Steel, The Wolverine, Pacific Rim, After Earth, R.I.P.D. and The Hangover Part III. Of that bunch one has been confirmed and one has been shot down.

To begin, Man of Steel helmer Zack Snyder tells MTV to expect a “crazy” trailer for the film in front of The Hobbit. “It’s fun. I can’t wait for The Hobbit, so it will be fun to see our crazy Man of Steel trailer and then enjoy the Hobbit because that’s going to be great… It just feels like a fun Christmas thing to do, drag the whole family out for that action.”

The possibility for a Wolverine trailer was shot down by director James Mangold who said on Twitter, “Contrary to reports, there will be no trailer on THE HOBBIT for THE WOLVERINE. You will get a glimpse early 2013. I promise.”

Meanwhile, there is news from Vin Diesel (via Facebook) that the first trailer for The Fast and the Furious 6 will play during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 3, 2013.

In other teaser news, the box set for Marvel’s Avengers Phase One films, which include the Iron Man films, Thor, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk and The Avengers was previously delayed due to some rights issues, but it is now officially available on presale and the delay has allowed them to include teasers for upcoming Phase 2 films, though which ones specifically are not yet known.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told Entertainment Weeekly the set would include “footage, concept art, and a few new surprises” along with “a nod to Iron Man 3 in the Tony Stark S.H.I.E.L.D. file in the box set.”

The set will also include some previously never-before-seen deleted scenes such as the deleted scene from the end of Thor seen below featuring Natalie Portman as Jane sending an intergalactic text message to her Asgardian boyfriend.

Speaking of Thor, the shoot on Thor: The Dark World has six weeks left to go and star Chris Hemsworth spoke with MTV about the upcoming film and whether or not there will be a rift between Jane and Thor, primarily considering Thor didn’t at least say “Hi” to Jane while he was saving the world in The Avengers.

“Definitely. For Thor and Jane, there are some unanswered questions now, since obviously he didn’t stop in and catch up with her in Avengers. Thor might have some explaining to do in this one….There’s some fun to be had with that…And with Loki, we get down to the major bones of our conflict with everything that’s come from Thor to Avengers to now.”

And now, on a completely random note, I offer you this…
