BRON announced today that Linda Cardellini, Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon, Golden Globe winner Kyle MacLachlan and Kathrine Narducci will join Academy Award nominee Tom Hardy in the Al Capone bio-pic Fonzo, written and to be directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle).

BRON Studios, in association with Creative Wealth Media are backing the film, which will begin principal photography April 2 in New Orleans. The producers include Aaron L. Gilbert (Fences, Beatriz at Dinner, the upcoming Tully) for BRON, Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder (Hold the Dark, Tau) for Addictive Pictures, and Academy Award nominee Lawrence Bender (Inglorious Basterds, Good Will Hunting, Pulp Fiction) for A Band Apart, alongside executive producer Jason Cloth of Creative Wealth Media. A ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist, Al “Fonzo” Capone (Hardy) was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore. At the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia rots Capone’s mind and his past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life.

Cardellini will play Capone’s long-suffering wife Mae; Dillon will play his closest friend Johnny; MacLachlan plays Karlock, his doctor; Narducci plays Rosie, one of his sisters
