The untitled Cloverfield movie has been moved from February 2, 2018 to April 20, 2018
The untitled Cloverfield movie, the third in the series, has gotten yet another new release date. Paramount Pictures has confirmed to ComingSoon.net that the film has moved from February 2, 2018 to April 20, 2018. The film, known earlier as God Particle, was originally looking at a February 24, 2017 release. It was then pushed to October 17, 2017 and then it moved to February 2, 2018. Though there was little fanfare about the latest change over the holiday, it’s now hitting theaters in April.
The plot for the untitled Cloverfield movie is said to revolve around an American space station that, after an accident with a particle accelerator, suddenly finds that Earth has vanished altogether. Things get stranger when they then pick up traces of another space station nearby. It stars David Oyelowo (Selma, Interstellar), John Ortiz (Fast & Furious films, Kong: Skull Island), Elizabeth Debicki (The Night Manager, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Concussion, Beyond the Lights), Chris O’Dowd (The IT Crowd, Moone Boy, Thor: The Dark World), Ziyi Zhang (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and Daniel Bruhl (Captain America: Civil War, Rush).
The untitled Cloverfield movie is directed by Julius Onah (The Girl is in Trouble). Originally scripted by Freaks of Nature and 22 Jump Street scribe Oren Uziel, the project was rewritten by Star Beyond‘s Doug Jung.
The April 20 release date for the untitled Cloverfield movie puts it up against a number of films, including the gender-swapped remake of Overboard, starring Anna Faris, Eugenio Derbez and Eva Longoria, the video game-based film Rampage, starring Dwayne Johnson, Super Troopers 2, Duck Duck Goose, Dolphins, and Tully.
