Sofia Vergara (“Modern Family,” The Smurfs) is in talks to join the cast of Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills. She will be joining Danny Trejo, Mel Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Demian Bichir and Amber Heard in the sequel.
In the action film, ex-federale (Trejo) is recruited by the U.S. government to stop an arms dealer (Gibson) from launching a deadly missile.
Variety says that Vergara is in talks to play the leather-clad Madame Desdemona, whose Mexican harlots have information that Machete needs.
Machete Kills is expected to start filming later this month.
