Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher) is in negotiations to direct the comedy Sex Tape for Sony Pictures and Escape Artists, reports Variety. Nicholas Stoller was previously attached to direct but had to drop out due to scheduling issues.
Jason Segel is still expected to star in the film, which centers on suburban married couple Annie and Jay, who accidentally lose a sex tape they made to reinvigorate their love life. Annie, a parenting blogger, leads the charge to recover it.
Reese Witherspoon had been mentioned for the role of Annie, but is not mentioned in the trade’s latest update.
Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will produce the film, which was written by Kate Angelo.
