Gordon-Levitt to Team with Johansson for Directing Debut

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set to make his feature writing and directing debut with an untitled project that will star Scarlett Johansson, Deadline reports.

Said to also star Gordon-Levitt, the film will tell the tale of a present-day Don Juan and his quest to become a better person.

Production is set to begin this April and there’s said to be another major female part that is, as of yet, uncast.

Johansson and Gordon-Levitt both star in major comic book adaptations this summer. She’ll reprise her role as Black Widow in Marvel’s The Avengers while he’ll star as John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises.

Also set to star this year in Looper, Premium Rush and Lincoln, Gordon-Levitt was also planning on playing a supporting part in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Unfortunately, that role may no longer be possible due to schedule constraints with this new project.
