Entertainment Weekly has learned that former “24” actress Nazneen Contractor has been cast in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Trek sequel. She is set to play the wife of Noel Clarke’s character in the film, says the magazine.
She joins a cast that also includes John Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Alice Eve, Peter Weller and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof, the follow-up should start filming soon for a May 17, 2013 release. The first film was released in May of 2009 and earned $385.7 million worldwide.
