Patrick Warburton Joins Ted

Patrick Warburton has joined the cast of Seth MacFarlane’s R-rated comedy Ted, Deadline reports.

Warburton’s role is that of Guy, described as a “sexually confused co-worker” of Mark Wahlberg’s character. What’s more, Deadline claims that the script itself originally called for “a burly Patrick Warburton type,” meaning that MacFarlane, who regularly works with the actor on “Family Guy,” most likely had the intention of casting the actor all along.

MacFarlane, also writing and directing, will voice the title character, a teddy bear belonging to a grown man (Wahlberg) who, magically alive, has failed to leave his side since childhood and is now posing a threat to his girlfriend (Mila Kunis).

The film is also slated to star Giovanni Ribisi and Joel McHale and is targeted for a July 13, 2012 release.
