Chris Lowell Gets Help

Chris Lowell (“Private Practice”) is in negotiations to join the cast of DreamWorks Pictures’ The Help. The film, based on Kathryn Stockett’s novel, was written and will be directed by Tate Taylor.

Lowell joins a cast that includes Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Bryce Dallas Howard

Set in Jackson, Mississippi in the early 1960s, the story explores how the unspoken code of behavior governing Southern households is shattered when an aspiring writer named Skeeter (Stone) interviews a maid (Davis), who speaks candidly about her experiences. The interview sets off shock waves that reverberate across the entire community.

Lowell will play Skeeter’s boyfriend, Stuart Whitworth, a senator’s son.

The Help starts shooting in the summer in Mississippi.
