‘Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug’, ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ and ‘American Hustle’ in Today’s MPAA Ratings

Today’s MPAA ratings bulletin offers up a trio of highly anticipated December releases, however, the ratings for each aren’t exactly surprising.

David O. Russell‘s American Hustle and Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street earned the obvious R ratings while Peter Jackson‘s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug comes away with the expected PG-13.

The possible animated awards contender from GKIDS, Ernest & Celestine, comes away with a PG as it was recently announced it will have a limited New York and Los Angeles release next March, where it hopes to use an Oscar nomination to help sell some tickets.

Then come the 2014 releases with Heaven is for Real starring Greg Kinnear and Million Dollar Arm, the Disney feature starring Jon Hamm, Bill Paxton and Lake Bell.
