The announcement teaser (above) for Paramount’s animated feature Rango drew the ire of several commenters upon release. Comments such as “One of the worst trailers I’ve ever seen” and “That was a waste of my time” were among the first responses. Of course, the :53 second video was only an announcement and tomorrow (6/29) will bring the first official teaser trailer, but today comes the first look at the title character who will be voiced by Johnny Depp courtesy of First Showing on Twitter.
Below is a look at Rango, a chameleon with an identity crisis. He’s a household chameleon who goes on an adventure to discover his true self. Along with Depp the voice cast includes Abigail Breslin, Isla Fisher, Ned Beatty, Harry Dean Stanton, Alfred Molina, Ray Winstone, Stephen Root, Bill Nighy and Timothy Olyphant as The Spirit of the West.
