Celebrating the worst in films was a niche in which the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation had a good thing going, but for the past couple of years they have been quite predictable and down-right conventional with their Razzie Awards and this year is no different.
Now this year it seems the Razzies have fallen under the same guise as Catwoman has taken home four Golden Raspberries for Worst Picture, Actress, Director and Screenplay. I must continue to ask if anyone saw Envy or Van Helsing?
Plus to give out four awards to Fahrenheit 9/11 for Britney Spears as a Supporting Actress, Rumsfeld as Supporting Actor, Bush as Lead Actor and George W. Bush and either Condoleeza Rice or his pet goat is just about as bad as the fact that they were even included in the nominations.
Nevertheless, Halle Berry seems somewhat happy about the win as she told Ireland’s Examiner, “When you would fall before, nobody would notice and you’d get up and dust yourself off and you’d be back in the game. But after you win [an Oscar], I think it’s a curse, so it’s actually good that I’m getting a Razzie this year because now I’m back at the bottom. The expectation has been taken off me.”
Anyhow the Golden Raspberry Award was devised by the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation and John Wilson to celebrate the worst of the worst for the year and here are this year’s winners, or should I say losers.
