Ice Age 5 Moves Back a Week and Gets Its New Title

Ice Age 5 is coming to theaters in 2016

The fifth installment of 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios’ Ice Age franchise has been given the title Ice Age: Collision Course and Fox has wisely moved it back a week to avoid the fact that Sony just moved Ghostbusters onto its original date.

The movie will now open on July 22, 2016 with the release date change putting the movie up against Guy Ritchie’s Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur, which itself is trying to kick off a new franchise based on the British legends.

Once again featuring the voices of John Leguizamo, Ray Romano, Denis Leary and Queen Latifah voicing their characters of Sid, Manny, Diego and Ellie and joined by Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes and Jay Leno, the story for Collision Course is unknown at this time.

To date, the four previous “Ice Age” movies have grossed $729.6 million domestically and $2.8 billion globally with the last two installments grossing over $850 million worldwide.
