Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems announced today that production has commenced in New Orleans, Louisiana on the psychological thriller When the Bough Breaks, directed by Jon Cassar (“24,” “The Kennedys”) from the screenplay by Jack Olsen and Karl Gajdusek.
John and Laura Taylor (Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall) are a young, professional couple who desperately want a baby. After exhausting all other options, they finally hire Anna (Jaz Sinclair), the perfect woman to be their surrogate – but as she gets further along in her pregnancy, so too does her psychotic and dangerous fixation on the husband. The couple becomes caught up in Anna’s deadly game and must fight to regain control of their future before it’s too late.
When the Bough Breaks is being produced by the former New Line toppers Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne and executive produced by Screen Gems’ Glenn Gainor. Valerie Bleth Sharp will co-produce and Brian Dukes will associate produce.
The creative production team includes Emmy nominated director of photography David Moxness (“The Kennedys”), production designer Chris Cornwell (Ride Along, The Wedding Ringer), costume designer Olivia Miles-Payne (“Entourage,” Ride Along 2), visual effects producer Raoul Bolognini (Spider-Man 2, Zombieland), visual effects supervisor Erick Geisler (The Day the Earth Stood Still), and editor Scott Powell (“24”).
