Lionsgate and the Firm have hired “Supernatural” star Jared Padalecki to play painter Thomas Kinkade in biopic The Christmas Cottage.
Peter O’Toole also will star in the film, directed by Michael Campus and written by Ken LaZebnick. Filming begins in Vancouver this month for a December 14 release.
“Cottage,” inspired by the early life and art of the renowned painter, is the story of how a small community and an aging mentor come to the aid of a family to save the only home they have ever known; and along the way teach a young man the meaning of love, friendship, and what it means to be an artist.
