Game of Thrones’ Pedro Pascal in Talks for Ben-Hur

Just yesterday, it was announced that Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot is up for the female lead in MGM and Paramount’s upcoming Timur Bekmambetov-directed remake of Ben-Hur, and now Deadline reports that “Game of Thrones” actor Pedro Pascal is in talks to play Pontius Pilate.

Pascal was a much-talked-about addition to the lineup of “Game of Thrones” last season, where he played cunning swordsman Oberyn Martell. He would make a formidable Pontius Pilate, who plays a more significant role in this version of Ben-Hur (as does Jesus Christ) than in the 1959 William Wyler version.

Production begins early next year in Europe on Ben-Hur, which will also star Jack Huston in the title role, along with Toby Kebbell and Morgan Freeman in the February 26, 2016 release.
